Money Saving Dishes
Budget friendly meals have become a UK trend, as we strive to make our favourite meals for less. The Eat & Drink Festival are delighted to have Chef appearances from One Pound Meal Creator, Chef Miguel Barclay and Sustainable Chef Andy Oakey who are all about sharing cost effective tips in the kitchen.
You will find plenty of money saving takeaways tips from the Expert Chefs here at the Eat and Drink Festival. John Torode and Lisa Faulkner shared their love for simple cooking with a firm family favourite Shepherd’s Pie, a comfort food recipe which goes a long way. Chef Miguel Barclay added an authentic flavour to his fried rice, using sesame oil - who needs a local takeaway when you can cost save at home?
There’s still so much more to see here at the Eat & Drink Stage, with meals that don’t cost a fortune. Next in our money saving meal line up is Sustainable Chef, Andy Oakley who will have live sessions during this week showing visitors how to make an eco-friendly roast.
Lee Connolly aka Skinny Jean Gardener will also be live, to inspire you and your family to spend more time in the garden – it won’t be long before the time of year where you’ll be growing you own fruit and vegetables.
And finally, no dinner is complete without the perfect sweet for dessert! Take a walk around our Artisan Producers Market, with hundreds of brands and treats galore. Be sure to check out Northern Brownies on stand MS01, Oddono’s Gelati on stand F110 and Donut Dudes on stand F103.
